In reading our earlier posts, I see that DOH wasn't exactly clear on the frustrations we have had with this software. In trying to use the monogramming in Deco I have had lettering sized to 3.5mm convert to split satin. I have opened .dst files and had satin objects within a logo convert to split satin that were way under 6mm. I'm not trying to do a lot of satin stitching over 6mm. The frustration has been needing to have the control over whether Deco decides that a satin stitched object needs to be split. After posting in several forums, Wilcom contacted us and did a very good job of listening to me as a customer and acknowledged that that was a common complaint. They have informed me that the ability to turn the split satin stitch on or off is planned for the first update. That is great news!!! As far as fill stitches are concerned, I am very aware of the different options for stitches. I printed the entire online manual and have spent a lot of time reading and experimenting with this program. Again, DOH was trying to say that our frustration was with the fact that the tatami fill stitch is only in one design. If I want to create something with a large fill area, I may want to have more than one look to the design. I may want a diamond pattern, or waves, or whatever the design calls for and with Deco, I don't have that. A motif pattern is not going to give me a complete coverage fill, if that is what I am looking for. Again, I am being told that Wilcom is looking at offering a package for sale offering different fill patterns for Deco. That did not come from Wilcom directly, but from the vendor we purchased the software from. So take that for what it is worth. I have not been successful in manually digitizing from Deco yet and turning out something I could be proud of but I'm still experimenting and learning and trying new things, so maybe in time. |
