hello jpg/bmp/tiff etc are GRAPHIC IMAGE FILES pes, hus, sew, jef etc are EMBROIDERY MACHINE FORMAT FILES.
The art of rendering those as effective image files is called 'embroidery digitizing' which uses the images as backdrop artworks, and the embroidery artist will work over those images creating different stitchtypes from a range of different tools found in specialised embroidery software.
Practically speaking, theres no way to effectively just convert any type of image file into embroidery...By this Im meaning..you cant eg save a jpeg, as pes and expect it to be embroidery...but you can save a jpeg, as a tiff..because those are just differing image formats.
The are however, with recent graphics technology, ways to convert your IMAGES into vector art ( this requires having specialised graphics software like CORELDRAW or Xara..and once you have created good vector art, embroidery software can assist you in rendering the graphics objects as embroidery.
Different embroidery software will allow you different capabilities and functionality. If you know very little about embroidery and graphics processes, learning has a relatively steep curve..so, you have the option to work with skilled digitizers that have been in the field for many years, or attempt learning.
Things to consider, are whether your just doing it as a hobby, or as a professional business. If as a professional business, it might serve you best to work with an experienced digitizer. If you have time to hobbytize ( digitize for fun..lol: that word is used courtesy of Nevi..patent pending) , then there are numerous entry level programs etc to help you hone your skills and practice ,practice, practice.
The pratical answer to your question on one level is , NO, you cant just save image files as pes. The technical answer is YES, you can but know that the skill, and experience levels and software to do that are high level products, and require skills and knowledge to operate. There are also low levels of software that might lead you to believe it has the same features and functionality as commercial level software, but you may find yourself disappointed at the power, and results comparatively.

Hello Yep, there are numerous embroiderers even at home business level that digitize professionally , specifically for home embroidery machines, so you can get that in the pes format that you want. Some commercial level software also exports to home formats , and some commercial co's can also digitize your files for you.
Generally, thats a personal preference, depending on your actual market, so, eg, if you're into pets and wildlife, you could seek out a co that specialises for best results.
Best wishes bye |
