To remove the beeps in ES 2006 you need to overwrite the c:\eswin\res\button1.wav and C:\Program Files\Wilcom\ES2006\RES\button2.wav files with an empty sound file. This can be done through the Sound Recorder Utility in Windows.
1. Go to Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->Sound Recorder (Win9x and WinME) or Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->Entertainment-->Sound Recorder (Win2000 and WinXP).
2. Once in Sound Recorder, click File-->New, then click File-->Save As.
3. Browse to the C:\Program Files\Wilcom\ES2006\RES\ folder and save the file as button1.wav.
4. Repeat Steps 2 to 3 for button2.wav.
Just deleting the c:\eswin\res\button*.wav files will not stop the beeps - you need to overwrite the files with a blank .wav file as per the steps above.
The above procedure will not disable the sound you hear when you hit the space bar or the Enter key - these sounds are currently hard-coded into ES and there is no workaround.
Regards,
Brenden

OK, thanks.
Is there any plans of silencing the hardcoded noices?

Try making copies of the "empty sound files" and calling them "button3.wav" and "button4.wav" in the same folder as the other two sound files (it could work, but I haven't tried it since my work PC doesn't have a sound card anyway).

This is one of those nagging little things that keeps coming up and up in posts on many ES sites.
And one that I feel will eventually have to be addressed with a volume control area from with-in ES itself.....
Although it is true that this is not core to the program and it almost must seem like a waste of resources to expend considerable efforts on something that is apparently so auxiliary to ES's core funtionality but this is a problem that is almost universally recognised and lothed by many.
And also something that will not just go away.
Eventually I think Wilcom will cave in on this issue.
Its true that there are 1000 more important things they could, should and probably are working on instead.... but few so ever present and urksome as this.
While your there guys you may as well include the provisions to add seperate sounds for every aspect possible in the program.....
It makes less work for you guys and I think it is also something people would love to playwith and trade sound profiles ETC.......
The mind boggles when thinking about what sounds people might insert with such provisions.....
