Hello,

the PR600 is a semi-professional machine. According to our experience with out customers in the beginning they are very happy when starting the biz but quite soon they reach the limits and around one year later, all our customers who also run their biz well calculated switched at least to one profesisonal head.

Kim, the PR is a work horse and is a great starter machine but I agree with Barbara. If you are purchasing for starting a business it is best to go with a full commercial machine. I read your other post and if the price is around 10k then you might also want to consider commercial machines as they run near that amount, depending upon the number of needles, brand etc. Sadia

We use the Brother PR 600 II to run our small embroidery business, just finished a 60 shirt order, the stinking machine ran like a watch!  over 1,100,000 stitches in two days, maybe two broken threads.  These machines are not bulletproof; they need oiling and some minor adjusting.  It helps if you have some mechanical aptitude, I know of people that have to drive five hours to get any minor repair done.  Most of the people that have the PR 600 learn to do the maintenance themselves.

With 13 years in the business I would only recommend Tajima. It's the best investment if you are planning on doing this as a business.
