We have a linens design business and to date we have contracted out our embroidery work.

We are now at the stage where we would like to do all our work in-house.

Does anyone know of a good site or white paper that discusses different machines...or a good comparison study?

Since we are new to the commercial machine side...we would be looking for cost comparisons and different machine options as well as discussion of overall design execution and service support.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Under the resources section on this website you will find a list of most of the commercial machines and there websites. That would be a good place to start. I can't think of one source that discusses all the machines together.

If you would like some information on ZSK, you can email me at
jsommers@jhdonline.com.

try going to stiches magazine's website and read diff. articles. This will be one of the better ways of doing it. Or you can simply request info from each machine distributor.
1. Then compare the diff. brands, also try seeing some of the machines in a shop other than a demo room. Since that's where you will really get a feel for the equipment.
2.How many years in business and resell value of the machines.
3. Ask shop owners how many times they normally break down.
4. Ask how fast they get their machines running, down time cost you alot of money.
5. The most important thing is to remember, you get what you pay for....
