Hi, Barb
I believe the machine only supports designs saved in *.JEF format. How are putting designs on your card? (Are you just copying them in Windows Explorer?)
Did your machine come with any software at all?

On some Janome machine models, I remember you have to switch between "Built-in" designs and "PC-Card" designs on the machine console (not sure about 300e though).
Sorry, I'm a bit confused about how you got the designs onto the card. What software do you use to "go to embrod patterns" and "download to pc card"?

| Hi Barb, for you to download to your Pc card you need the Janome Customizer 10000. This software allows you to take designs off your computer onto your pc card to be read by your 300e machine. Also you may be putting the Pc card in backwards, I know this sounds silly but it is easily done, I did it myself, if this is what you are doing it will not show any designs being read by you machine. Also on you screen on the machine you have a little icon in the shape of a card select this when you have placed your card in to be read. Hope this will be of help to you. |

| Hi Y_ Wear,
I also bought the same machine and it does not come with any software to transfer designs from a cd to the ATA PC Card, and no one tells you this.
I did use Windows Explorer and downloaded the JEF file. All
designs appeared in the compact flash card and in JEF format however you do have to make sure format stays at fatt
sometimes it changes format to fatt32 which gives an error when you put it in your emb machine. Also after I got it downloaded to my computer I converted the program to Internet explorer as it asks what program to send it to and suggests internet explorer. My emb.
machine did not show errors and I just pulled up one embroidery design and it is there on the screen under ATA card I have not tried to
actually embroider the design yet hope to get to it
today. My Printer has a drive for the compact flash card but it did not work so I purchased a separate compact flash drive that attaches to a USB port, brand is Dazzle it came with the ATA card. the flash drive you just insert the flash card with out the ATA adapter and it can only fit into it one way.
I will let you know if it worked using Windows and Internet explorer.
Thansk,

I have the 300e and have had no problem transferring files from my computer to the ATA card and then stitching them out. you do not need any special program unless you need to convert to JEF. My biggest problem was in figuring out which one of the cards to use. I'm a SanDisk fan so I bought that brand. To use in the machine you will need a CF (compact flash) card and an adapter, the adapter is the one you would get to use the CF card in a laptop. If your computer doesn't have one of those neat sets of slots to read the CF card, just get an adapter to read it through a USB port. I think I spent a grand total of $35 for all of it 2 years ago. You have to put the card in the 300e and format it first but then all you do is plug it in the computer and do the drag and drop thing to the EmbF5 folder, return it to the 300e and follow the directions on the screen to read from the card. It will only read a certain amount of files so I'd only place what I was sewing in the folder and swap out. I am so sorry you didn't get any help, sounds like my local dealer but I absolutely LOVE Janome so I ordered my machine from Ken's Sewing in AL. I send them there for tune ups and everything. He was so kind as to answer my questions while I was looking at embroidery machines I ordered from him instead of going across the street! Customer service is a big thing to me and his is the greatest! I did find some information on the Janome website but the best place to get answers is to join 1 of the 300e yahoo groups. That's where I confirmed the CF card info. HTH! Laurie |
