I have found out the hard way that it is important to have a dealer nearby for service. The only one less than 100 miles is the Happy. Can anyone recommend that machine, particilarly the HCD1501 15 needle? SWF is almost 200 miles away.

Who makes the Happy? Their literature says they are made in Japan but my nearby dealer says they are made by Bernina in Switzerland. He also has never heard of Tajima or Barudan. Makes me wonder...  Thanks.

John

Mmm... well I am not 100% sure about the Bernina part Certainly Bernina were offering Happy machine in the US at one point, but they do not make it... Perhaps this is where the confusion came from.

Happy is Japanese and a pretty good machine from what I've heard.

For machine choice first you need to decide what you will be using it for. If running all day long non-stop then you'll want a good work horse and I hear lots of good things about Barudan and Tajima.

Oh, and if your local dealer doesn't know about Barudan and Tajima he ain't really engaged into the market

Hi Brenden:

Thanks for the input. I only run it sporadically but am planning on doing more so at this point, so I do not need a 10 hour workhorse. I really need more needles and a larger sewing area.

Thanks again.
