I am buying my first commercial embroidery machine. I currently have a Pfaff Creative vision home machine. I have looked at the Amaya XT and the Tajima "M" series, single head. I'd appreciate any input, positive or negative on either machine. The Tajima software seems much easier than the Pfaff software and I haven't had any real exposure to the Melco system, yet. Based on what I've seen it seems to be more user friendly than the PFaff. Both marketing departments say theirs is the best but I am concerned about the reality of which will perform better with less problems. All opinions are welcome.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi Olivial,

first of all, digitizing software is not specific for a machine, which means, you can work with digitizing SW from another compay where your machine comes from. Only the software, which connects your machine with the pc is specific.
I have had tested an Amaya 5 years ago and decided later for Tajima EHX due to stitch quality. But it seems to be history - last week I saw Amayas running on a fair in Stuttgart and the stitch quality was fine. I absolutely like the operating system from the PC of the Amaya.
Some jobs can't be done on the Amaya (suitcases, too less space between the bottom and the free arm), some can't be done on the Tajima (very narrow pockets, the free arm of the Amaya has less diametre).
You should figure out, what you are going to stitch and make up your mind. From my today's point of view relating to the last 5 years experience with my customers I know, we made the right decission to go for the EHX and one year later to a 4-head Tajima FHX. Some jobs were only possilbe with the large border frame of the FHX, designs, which ran in 4 sections on that frame. That wouldn't be possible even with 4 Amayas. This does not mean that I never would want an Amaya as additional creative machine. (Faux chenille, print/embroidery exact combination).
And don't forget to think about after sales support. Who will serve you best?

Barbara
