Hi just joined the forum and noticed your query over the test circle into Embird.
When I open the file in Studio (8.2) it is 2 filled circles with no outline, I then deleted the second circle and using the Convert-Create outline from fill you can obtain the effect you want, as long as it is a single colour design this method will work. If you are looking to do multi colour designs with outline you will need a very clean vector. In your example you said Micky Mouse (not that any of use would use him, we would be if we did) you would draw round the black outline, then draw round the colour filled areas, then using your graphics program trim the filled coloured areas, so if you moved the sections you would have an outline of black with what appeared to be white infill, and coloured areas with what appeared to be no outline (does any of this make sense , I'm afraid it's something I'm used to just doing, and it's rather hard to explain in writing), but when all put together will enable you to achieve what you require.
Vector files need to be exact for Auto-digitizing to work, unlike printing. I use CorelDraw to create files for both printing and contour cutting on a vinyl cutter, and embroidery files in .wmf for autodigitizing.
I apologise if you're more confused. You do really need a good Vector programme to get what you need.
