Would someone have any tips as to how to digitize for cap backs especially around the opening. I am having trouble determining the correct arc and letter size.

Scan your cap's backside and import it into the the software. You also can import a drawing of the hoop used (12 cm diameter???) additionally. This way you will have an idea of the arc as well as of the area which can be stitched on.
