Hi,

I am new to all of this and have to make a decision on which machine to get to start with, could anyone help with some adivce or experience.

My choices are; Elna 8600 or Bernina Artista 163E (only 19 hrs use but 7 yrs old and no software) or a viking hclass 500....

My start up fund in minimal.

Thank you

hi:)
On average, its best to avoid older machines...but if you have to choose:
Find out which dealer is closest to you, and more importantly find out which service center is most convenient for you.
Find out whether connectivity depends on the software, or you can suddenly find yourself unable to really load designs etc, and most co's may have moved on in the way of developments, so you can find yourself in a situation where you need to upgrade, and that may be costly.

If it has the card loading system, then its good to find out about all that first.

If you find that its suitably supported, and you can be up and running without having to hunt for cables, or disk/card drives etc, then its ok to choose one.
