How – To?

Using DecoStudio to digitize.

I would like to sew appliqué to a cut felt backing contoured to the shape of the appliqué, leaving the edge of the felt un-sewn to allow someone else to sew on the garment with a home sewing machine.

If you have an Idea how I could do this how much of a contour would you recommend?
