Hi there,
Best way to make a default colorway is to first start a new blank design. Create the colorway you want to be your default (or you can make a few different colors in the one file.)
To save this as a default go to File > SaveAs and Select EMT Template.
The system will browse automatically to your Template folder which is at C:\Program Files\Wilcom\DecoStudio_e1.5\TEMPLATE.
Select the Normal.EMT file and overwrite this.
Your File > New blank design windows are actually taken from settings in the Normal.EMT file so any changes made to this file will become your new default settings.
Hope this helps.

How do I make it the default even for designs I bring in? When we have someone else convert the designs they come in with different thread defaults that take over as many threads as it takes leaving only the last few in my default. Does that make any sense? |

You'll want to Import (aka insert) the design instead of opening it (i.e. File->Import Embroidery...). This will keep all of your default threads in your palette.
However, you also have an option for what you want to do with the threads of the inserted design. By default, they will be added to the end of yours (i.e. you will end up with a bigger palette with all your threads + all the threads in the design).
If you want every imported (inserted) design to always use ONLY your threads, then turn on the Match to Palette option in View->Design Options->General before you insert the design.

| I have spent more time trying to figure out how to change the colorway permenantly than I have just trying to learn this program. I am new at this, only been digitizing for about a month now and I am here to tell you I think I learned more in the 10 minutes it took to read this post and follow the instructions than I have all month. Not only did I learn how to change the colorway I also found out how to show the wireframe too!! Thanks so very much! |

| I just bought all the InkThemes, and am just getting started to set up a ColorWay. It is not as easy as your sales page suggested. For instance, your default home ... |
