I'm new at emroidery. I just bought a Designer 1. I need help as to how to choose the design, how to download, what programs I should use or need. How to create a carpet.............as you can see, I need all the help and patience that anyone can give me. I want to learn the very basics first. I'm taking classes with my dealer, but she said that in order to download designs, I must have the proper software, that is, the 3D or 4D, but I cannot afford to buy any right now, what should I do?

hi, i am new at this. I need help from someone that is more of an expert than I am. I have a designer 1 with the 3d professional software. I have gotten some very neat free patterns that are in the pes format. I can open, download and stitch all of them but a few. When I receive them and get ready to open them I receive a error message that it is an unreconizable file. What is happening?

Hi:

I also have a designer one and just love it.  I got mine about 4 years ago as a gift from, believe it or not, my husband with out me even knowing about it.  It just wish it would do bigger patterns even though I have the mega hoop.

I have been embroiderying for about 6 years now and a very helpful thing that I found is to set up a file in your patterns for new patterns only.  Put any patterns that you receive immediately in that file.  Then when you have time go through them and sort them into catagories, ex. snowmen, cow, sheep, etc.  Then when you get ready for a pattern go to that file and choose the pattern you want and put it at that time on your floppy.
