| Does anyone know any way I can connect my laptop, which only has USB ports, to my 165E which only has a 9pin port? I've tried the USB to serial cable, but laptop and sewing don't communicate. I'm wanting to buy the new Editor Lite software, but need to make this work first. Thanks. |

| Did you just plug the two in using the USB to Serial cable while they were both on? try restarting both the laptop and the sewing machine. I'd turn on the laptop, wait for it to boot up, then turn on the sewing machine. Try it in reverse if that doesn't work. You may have to go into your control panel and see if the computer is recognizing it at all. If it isn't, take a look at the condition of the cable, if it's old, try a different one if you have. Is there any way to change the port on the sewing machine to a USB? Find out if you could update that. |
