| What would be a good software package for a MB4 and how much would it cost? |

For the Janome MB-4 machine, the best software would be the Janome Digitizer MB software.
This software has it all, it has all the digitizing tools as well as automatic digitizing and some special lettering features for use on the Janome MB-4 (e.g. center-out sequencing for caps). The fabric feature is amazing, all you do is select the fabric type for your job and the software makes all the necessary adjustments to the design settings.
It also direct connects to the MB-4 and provides feedback from the machine through the MB-4 toolbar which also allows you to network up to 3 machines.
You would not need any other software with this package.
The MSRP (from memory) is about $1,800 but best to check with your local Janome dealer. |

Yes, I would go for Janome Digitizer MB as well, for all the reasons MPs mentioned, plus it has a nice user interface, easy to use.
Also, the Fabric feature will recommend a backing/stabilizer, depending on the selected fabric, so answers your question about stabilizers in the other thread.

Hi, I am from Australia and are wondering do you need the digitizing software to download embroidery desogns from internet and if so how can I get the software other than spending a large amount of money at the sewing shop. I have a janome MC200e. Ruth |

| All you need to get the designs to your MC200E is a USB stick with the right format designs (JEF). You simply download the JEF files from the Internet and using Windows Explorer, transfer the designs from your PC to the USB stick. Plug the stick into your MC200E and read the files from the stick into your machine. Be aware that the MC200E may have problems reading USB sticks if the size is too big i.e. I think it might be limited to reading only 512MB USB sticks, best to check with a Janome dealer on this.
If you want to be able to resize the designs, download the (free) TrueSizer program from EmbroideryStartup.com and it will let you read the designs, resize them and them save them in the new size as JEF files. |
