I discovered yahoo groups and other places that give free designs as well as have bought some designs. Now, I have a mess. I have all the designs on the computer, in folders with the place I received them from. Some days there are many in a yahoo group or a hunt and they add up fast. I am trying to get them unzipped and need to find a way to know what I have. What I am doing, or was doing, was making pages with the designs on and the info on the designs, printing them and making hard copies for all the designs. For me this is easiest to use, helps me see what I have and use it. However, I am taking one program and unzipping, removing unwanted formats and then opening the file and copying the pic in another program. Then taking still another program, opening the file and getting the info off it (If I copy from the 2nd program it does not work), oh yes, there is resizing the copy as it makes a page size picture, and then I am putting this all in a word doc and making a page with several pics on it and then printing it. With all of the designs I will never catch up when each one is taking 3 or 4 programs and then the time to fiddle with it in the programs to get what I want.
Now, how does anyone else do this? Right now I can't afford much for software, my husband had hours cut and till things pick up our budget is not stretching for things. I am frustrated and can't figure out how to do what I want without taking all day for a few pages of hard copy.
HELP me someone!!

| Well, if you don't have embroidery software to do any actual digitizing, and you're just going to be stitching out the designs, as-is, I think there are some free embroidery viewing software programs out there, where you can open and view the embroidery in whatever format it's in and you can probably print from there. I'm not sure if it prints out the design along with all the thread information, dimensions, etc. If you want to print out multiple designs on one page, I don't know if the programs would let you do that. You could always print one on one side of the paper and another on the reverse side. You might want to check out Embird (http://www.embird.com/sw/embird/estudio.htm). It's not anywhere near as expensive as some of the other software programs out there and there's also a demo version if you want to check it out and try it first. |
