mom21h, unfortunately TrueSizer 2006 doesn't support *.VIP.
Mandy Rose, on the other hand, is more fortunate... yes, you CAN convert *.JEF to *.PES!
(btw, that's a lovely name "Mandy Rose", if you don't mind me saying so!)

HI,
you need a graphics program which can trace the bitmap and create vectors, e.g. Corel Draw X3´or Corel lower versíons there is Corel trace but I am sure there are other programs too

hi..when I try to convert a GNC file to a PES file it says "generic write error". In fact I get that on every conversion no matter what I'm converting to. What's the problem?

I know Embird converts from vip to jef. It has a 30 day trial for free at www.embird.com I think it costs about $75. It does a lot more than conversion, too.

| I'm a bit confused because it says on the MonogramSP page that TrueSizer can be used to change its .dst formats into others such as .pes, which I need for my machine. However on the TrueSizer page it says it is for .emb file format. Can I really convert .dst to .pes? And can these be any .dst formatted design on my computer or only those from MonogramSP? Thanks! |

| Yes,
if your file extention is in the list under file type then you can open it and if your file extention is in the list for save as typ then you can save it as your machine type. Just remember that if you save it as an EMB don't mean that you are able to resize it unless it is a native EMB file. |

this is specifically the question I'm asking - not having downloaded the software at the time I wanted to know if .exp can be converted to .art4 with aid of TrueSizer software. However, I have since downloaded the software to find that it can only open art4 and not save to it.

I am trying to use the resize and it works but the stitches are either spread to far apart or squeshed together if you make it smaller. It says that you need to have the files as an EMB file. Mine are EXP and I cannot find a way to convert from EXP to EMB? Help Please. Bob |

| If you want the software to recalculate the stitches of a stitch based file like dst, exp ............ (other than emb and art) you must check "calculate objects" (click options) when opening the design in the "opening window". The SW will do the best to recognize stitch types and recaluclate the stitches depending on the size of the design though there are some limitations. A native emb-file is recalculated perfectly though. |
