To convert files to another format in Wilcom TrueSizer do the following:

  1. Open Wilcom TrueSizer.
  2. Select File > Open. The Open dialog box will appear.
  3. From the "Files of Type" dropdown list at the bottom select the format of the original file such as Tajima .DST.
  4. Browse to the location of the file and select the file.
  5. Click Open to open the file.
  6. Once the file is open select File > SaveAs. The SaveAs dialog will appear.
  7. Browse to the location where you want to save the file
  8. From the "Save as type" dropdown list at the bottom select the format that you want to convert to such as Brother .PES.
  9. Click Save.

Your file will now be saved in the required format.

I might be able to help. I assume you followed the above steps. What is the problem exactly? e.g.
- is TrueSizer giving any errors when saving HUS?
- or does it look like the design saved correctly, but you can't see on the machine?

Yes I followed the directions to a T. I have a Viking Designer 1 and I use "Hus" and "VIP" formats. These are not listed in the "save as" box. Is there any other program that I might use. I don't have a lot of money or time to spend.

Thanks for the reply,

Kearon

Do you have the latest version of TrueSizer 2006?

TrueSizer 2006 definitely has HUS listed in Save As type. It has a lot of formats, HUS is about 2/3 of the way down the list:

"Husqvarna/Viking (*.HUS)"

I had a old verson that would let me save a emb file to meloc exp but the 2006 verson will not.
Do you have a solution for this?

I've just re downloaded WTS. I have never gotten it to work. I found this forum and decided to try again. I used the "short" I think that is the term. Not the custom one. I still can't figure out how to convert to sew format. I tried following the instructions spelled out. However, I never get a "save as button" to appear. Can someone help me? I have a lot of files to convert! TIA peardrop

I can see by a later post that it will convert to and allow to be saved to the .JEF format but can I resize something that is already in the .JEF format, I have a couple of designs that are a bit to large for my hoop.

Thank you

peardrop,

I'm not sure what you mean by "short" or "custom one".
But you need to click "Save As" from the File menu (not "Save"). It is a menu item, not the button.

Bleggy,

TrueSizer will only "scale" something that's already JEF. It will only nicely "resize" a design if it was an original EMB digitized in Wilcom software. The difference is that, you can make your JEF bigger or smaller, but wont regenerate the stitching to preserve the density. If you had the original EMB and you made it bigger or smaller, the software would reprocess the stitches to keep your embroidery looking nice.

Thank you, one of the ones that are to big was originally EMB so if I make it smaller first then convert it to JEF that would work better, I just checked they were both EMB and I still have the originals.

Thank you I will start the process again with the EMB files.

Is it possible to convert groups (i.e., whole alphabets) of designs (instead of one at a time) from one format to another using Wilcom TrueSizer? If so, how.

When I convert from .PES to .EXP, it provides the .EXP file, but not the corresponding .exy, .edr, or .inf files that my machine needs.

Any help would be appreciated!
