My husband bought me a Janome 300e embroidery machine over 2 yrs ago. Until recently I had never had the chance to take it out of the box. When it was bought the salesperson advised we did not need any type of additional software. Now that I am trying to use the cd designs that came with the machine I can not find a program to download to the pc ata card. I have to purchase the Janome digitizer program which is costly in order to transfer the embroidery  designs can the WIlcom truesizer do this as my main program? Or is their another program on my computer that may work? I have Windows XP
Microsoft, Windows Media?

Thanks

Barb

Truesizer allows you to convert to JEF (the file type used by the Janome 300e), but unfortunately doesn't upload designs to your ATA Card.

But, on a positive note, you don't need to buy the Digitizer software to just to upload designs. You just need Janome Customizer11000 (if you don't have it already!)

Thanks Delfius however when we purchased the Janome Embroidery Machine 300E we were told we did not need any other software to download the Stitchize designs that came with the machine, apparently the salesperson did not care and just wanted to make a sale.

The Janome Customizer 11000 is another
$200.00 for this program.  When we opened the embroidery essential starter kit it had the Stitchize cd in the box, I have gone back several time and by myself opened several new starter kits for this model machine and all of them have the same embroidery cd which has 100 designs.  So basically without the Customizer 11000 I can not download the cd programs to my ATA PC card.

Does anyone know if there might be a Microsoft program that will work.  I was able to download it to the Microsoft program under jef and view all the designs.  I converted the designs to internet explorer and it did download to the ATA PC Card I did not receive any errors when I put the ATA PC card into the machine but I have not tried a design yet.

I feel completely ripped off by the place I purchased the Embroidery machine from as when I purchased the C hoop it also came with a different cd by Amazing Designs, and I purchased one by Gungold.  I have been working on a
quilt that my mother started and did all the embroidery squares by hand, she passed away before she got the Middle
piece done and I have been trying to finish it for my father and I really need some of the embroider designs from these cd's.  I do not do hand embroidery.

In addition I would have thought that a brand like Janome  would have an accessories list in their manual, however they do not.  Their website does show some accessories but refers you to a dealer.

So If anyone knows If a Microsoft program would work, please let me know.  This is a very special project , especially the Middle section my mom did not complete!!!

I just posted to another topic and I thought I was posting to you. The question is almost the same, i'm going to cut and paste from that one, please let me know if it helps or if you have any questions:
I have the 300e and have had no problem transferring files from my computer to the ATA card and then stitching them out. you do not need any special program unless you need to convert to JEF. My biggest problem was in figuring out which one of the cards to use. I'm a SanDisk fan so I bought that brand. To use in the machine you will need a CF (compact flash) card and an adapter, the adapter is the one you would get to use the CF card in a laptop. If your computer doesn't have one of those neat sets of slots to read the CF card, just get an adapter to read it through a USB port. I think I spent a grand total of $35 for all of it 2 years ago. You have to put the card in the 300e and format it first but then all you do is plug it in the computer and do the drag and drop thing to the EmbF5 folder, return it to the 300e and follow the directions on the screen to read from the card. It will only read a certain amount of files so I'd only place what I was sewing in the folder and swap out.
I am so sorry you didn't get any help, sounds like my local dealer but I absolutely LOVE Janome so I ordered my machine from Ken's Sewing in AL. I send them there for tune ups and everything. He was so kind as to answer my questions while I was looking at embroidery machines I ordered from him instead of going across the street! Customer service is a big thing to me and his is the greatest!
I did find some information on the Janome website but the best place to get answers is to join 1 of the 300e yahoo groups. That's where I confirmed the CF card info.
HTH!

Thanks, Laurie,

Yes I did figure out I needed and ATA card and the compact flash and purchased the sandisk as well,
and the card adapter even though my printer has all the adapters to read and write.  I knew that JEF.
was my program for the Janome, and I did format
the cf disk in my embroidery maching.

The problem I encountered it would not let me drop and drag to the card without sending it to another program like internet explorer which kept the JEF format.  I had not had the time to try it yet to see if it actually sews the embroidery pattern, it does allow me to view the ones on the machine though.

I will check out the Yahoo 300E websites it may give me more imformation.  I actually called Janome for help on this and found that all dealers who sell the Janome machines are suppose to offer software classes on how to transfer the designs from the cd to the compact flash cards.  My dealer does not and every one they did for me was done wrong and almost damaged my 300e.  I did find a dealer that offers the classes however because I did not buy my machine from them and their classes fill up fast I am on a waiting list.

It's sad that the price you pay for these products do not automatically come with the software.  I found several other machines just as good of quality less money, it comes with the software and you can also plug right into a USB and actually  embroider clip art or photos that you have taken.

Again thanks for the information and I will check out the yahoo websites.

Google the "logo tool box"  I bought my software off of ebay, and am extreemly pleased with it.  It was around $35 dollars, you can view, and convert designs, and put them on your ATAPC Flash Card....It does not digitize designs, but is great help in viewing and color selection, and generally organizes my designs so they aren't scattered all over my computer...HTH,,,B

Hello to all again who have the embroidery machine by Janome model 300E. It appears that my downloads from internet explorer did load the embroidery designs and transfer the design in JEF. After using the ATA and Sandisk card, making sure I used the right program on the emb machine asking for built=in or ATA Card. I made sure I was using the ATA card section. I started embridery the patter as a test and some of them work, others do not. So now I am back since I can not get the ATA card Jef. file to sew embroidery program that are denser in design no matter what adjustment I make in the tension. Does anyone know if there is a website to download the Customizer 11000 program? Again the place I bought my computer from advises that I need their Customizer 11000 software to transfer the files from the CDs to the ATA and Compact flash card. I have had only a few 2 hours of actual sewing embroidery designs, Now I am back to having some type of software, this software after checking within 100 miles of Janome dealers the price for the Customizer 1100- software is around $200.00, which I can not afford to purchase as my husband was lost his job of 18 1/2 years. I was asked to do some t-shirts for a junior sports club, putting their names on the from of each shirt and a larger team design logo. I have a different sewing machine that does the letters but not the team logo. If any one can advise about purchasing the software at a lower price or a used program for sale please e-mail me at barb.franklin@g-mail.com\ I even tried to get the shop to rebuy the machine and buy a lesser model, unfortunately these places require you update to a larger model. I paid over $1,600. for this machine, in addition I would also have to purchase software for that emb. machine. I also have a embroidery CD design from Amazing Designs which has no help menu on the cd for downloading this program to the Compact Flash Disk. Even the store I purchased it from could not transfer the designs using the Customizer 11000 software. I am quite computer illiterate I have followed the directions on the cd to transfer to the com., flash disk but it just does not work as well. The larger hoop B has a lot of opening spaces in the design. If is's a simple design I can outline the design, if is a small design. I even tried repositioning the design and redoing it on the emb machine, it takes twice as long and sometimes it works other times it does not the smaller design can not be dense just an outline which fills in some. Yes I can use my other machine to fill in the design, to me it just defeats the purpose of buying the embroidery machine. Hope someone can advise on one of the 300E websites or a program to buy for really cheap. Since I could not get the logo design on the back, I was unable to take the job for this local sports team, They were not willing to pay up front in full other wise I could have purchased the software needed. If I can get the software programs for cheap I can pick up more business and actually have the machine pay for itself. Thank you, Petdesigner I really could use any information for other web site address as well as mentioned by another member

did you figure out how to get the jef and sew files from your computer to your card??

what did you end up doing?  i had a similar experience.

bought a used machine from my janome dealer - "as new" and was told all the wonderful things i could do with it (i had used the machine in the past) BUT they didnt tell me that all the wonderful things i wanted to do could only be done with the digitizer software.  all i got was customizer and thats like a joke!

should have just went to wal mart and bought a $400 machine instead of a $1000 janome

Had a similar question myself but I found the answer on the Janome web site forum. It is really simple to get .JEF files onto the flash card.

First, insert flash card in machine. Second, open a built in design on the machine and select edit. Third, select save and choose to save on card giving the file a name. Forth, remove card from machine and place in computer card reader. Fifth, open card directory and notice that a folder called "Embf5" is now on the card. Place any .JEF files you want to use into that folder. The next time you insert it into your machine, it will read the new .JEF files.

I hope this helped!
