dklava, converting picture format to dst is not easy, you can use auto digitizing software but I won't recommend it at all because the result will need a lot of editing.
the only way to do it correctly is by digitizing it by using a digitizing software, such as Pulse, wilcom, wings, etc. |

You need to unzip the zip file to extract the embroidery files within. Then whether TrueSizer can convert them or not will depend on what these files are.
There are a number of free unzip programs around if you don't have one. Or if you have XP, open your 'My Computer' or 'My Documents', then go through the folders and locate the zip file.
Right click on the zip file and on the pop-up menu, select Explore. This will then display all the zipped files. You can then copy and paste them to a working location from where you can open and convert them with TrueSizer

It might be a position issue rather than a size issue. At the time when TrueSizer was released, the biggest Janome hoop was 140x200mm, so you shouldn't have any problems with a 5x7 inch design.
BUT, it might be that your design doesn't start stitching from the center so it might be exceeding the stitching area, even if its smaller than 140x200.
Easiest way to fix this is to apply Auto Start and End (from the menu, select "EMBroidery->Auto Start and End..."). Give that a go.

Hello,
You answered a question that I was looking for and I am wondering I just tried to do what you said Options...."calulate objects"
That button for me is there but I cannot click on it, do you happen to know the reason? Wilcom 2006 I have and I am very new to embroidering and not ready to purchase program yet, still trying to learn the machine
Thanks For All Help

Chrissy, probably you have EMB selected. The "Calculate Objects" is only applicable to stitch file formats like DST, EXP, etc.
The EMB stores all the original objects so does not need to do any calculating when an EMB file is opened, that's why the button is disabled.

| I have some bmps, jpegs, tiff, and gifs that I have been saving for years and would like to convert them to either dsts or pes to use on my embroidery machine. How do I go about doing this? I have PE6, Wilcom Trusizer, Daystar, Embird, Origins, Embroidery Office Maxx Pro 7, Futura Software. What program do I use to accomplish this? |

| I was trying to download a zip file from the website needlework and was trying to save it in dst format or pes and it wouldn't unzip the file after I had downloaded it. It was giving me an error message about it being used by another program or that it was an exe.file. Which was not the case in either instance. What happened? |

Paulscyn,
you can use any of your programs having the ability of Auto-Digitizing as well as manual digitizing tools. Be aware, that designs manually punched usually are of better quality than auto-digitized designs. |
