I'm trying to read a disc on my vista desktop that reads ok on Tajima machine. If I open as embroidery file I get "Diskette error 13". If I use file open I get windows message "disc need to be formatted". Anyone know what is wrong with my floopy disk?

| I have this happen to me occasionally. I don't know what the cause of the disk error is, but when I see the message saying the disk needs to be formatted, I DO NOT click "FORMAT DISK NOW" as this will erase everything on the disk. My stupid, yet efficient (so far) fix for this is to simply go to another computer, right click on the start menu, click explore, and open the 3 1/2 Floppy A: drive. It usually opens without trouble. If you still get the formating request, try another computer. If the disk opens, and you can see all the files, then you should be good to go. Just bring the disk back to the other computer and try opening your files. Hasn't failed me yet :-) |
