Well, I see Wilcom has fixed the issue with True Sizer not installing and working properly with Vista.  I was finally able to download and install True Sizer onto my Dell laptop running Vista Home Premium sucessfully.  Screen resolution is set correctly, so I did see the "close" button, and the program launches without any error messages.  However, in trying to UNinstall the first attempt (which was about 2 or 3 months ago), I had great difficulties, with all kinds of error messages.  I finally got most of the installer program off, with just one thing left.  I still get the "Do you want to restart your computer?" message, anytime I reboot my computer.  I just click no, but it's annoying, to say the least.  The command string is obviously still in my registry or my autoexec.bat file.  I'd like to remove it, but don't like playing around in either of those two areas, unless I really know what I'm looking for.  Anyone have any ideas how to get that message to stop popping up?  Thanks!

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on which way I look at it) I don't have Vista Home Premium so I'm not sure exactly where everything is in the registry.

I assume you have TrueSizer 2006. It uses an InstallShield installation program. InstallShield installations can leave behind hidden program file folders if they do not uninstall properly. TrueSizer 2006's hidden files would be found here:
"C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{AF1AAE2F-7DEF-4B60-9EE2-1158C2487A16}"

To see the folder, you have to turn on "Show hidden files and folders" option in Windows Explorer. If you find the above folder, it should be safe to delete it.

But be careful, you might find a lot of similar-named folders in the InstallShield Installation Information folder. Do NOT delete any other folder, except the "{AF1AAE2F-7DEF-4B60-9EE2-1158C2487A16}" folder (the other folders belong to other applications, which you probably want to keep).

Well, that did not work, either :-( What is the installer file for Wilcom 9? I am nearly 100% positive that I did not accidentally select an older program, but at this point, who knows? I'll look to see if maybe that's the program I tried to first install, which gave me all the error messages, and wouldn't uninstall correctly leaving this last command. I can take a peek in the InstallShield Installation Information folder for that file, and see if it's still hanging around. Appreciate your assistance!

Darn. This could be tricky. Unfortunately, I don't know which folder holds the InstallShield Installation Information for TrueSizer 9, or even if it uses it at all (it's quite old now!).

Anyway, if that's not working, I know of a number of places which list the programs that run when your PC boots up, maybe you can look in:

1) Your startup folder (C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup)

2) The registry, under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
(the "RunOnce" keys contain the lists of applications that just run the next time your PC boots, while the "Run" keys contain the applications that run EVERY time your PC boots)

It's possible that there's some application registered to run at startup which is constantly reboot (but if you intend to delete values from your registry, please please be careful, and backup stuff first!)

Okay, in looking via Regedit, in the filepath: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
here's what I'm seeing. Not sure if the highlighted file could be the offending file or not.  Not sure if the 2 IntallShield command strings are in there to run at startup, to see if there are new updates for InstallShield, or if this might be the offender.  Any thoughts?

I believe "ISUPSM Startup" is the "InstallShield Update Manager", the little program that looks for updates for installed applications. I wouldn't be able to say it's the culprit though.
