Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has taken the plunge into Windows 7? Reviews are pretty good so far and in theory (according to Microsoft) any application that operated in Vista will operated in Windows 7.
Share you experiences!

ES version 9 is over 7 years old and will not run on Windows
7. You need to Upgrade if you want to
run it on Windows 7. If you are in North
America we are still have a great sale. Visit my website www.AdvancedWilcom.com
and contact me and I'll help you out.

I just switched over to Windows 7 running ES 1.5. My biggest issue is using the new "search" function. In XP I was able to search for a design within my embroidery file folder and by checking "thumbnail" I was able to see a small thumbnail of each design. With Windows 7, you no longer have the option to view thumbnails, only "icons" in various sizes. No help when you have thousands of designs some with similar names. Does anyone out there know of an inexpensive search program that will allow me to do searches and be able to see each design? Another issue is that you cannot run some programs Windows 7 that you could on XP. Such as Photoshop CS3. The work around is to upgrade Windows 7 to "Professional" version. In this version you can also run a virtual Windows XP. Then you can load those programs to the XP mode. I think that should work for Wilcom version 9. |

Hi Windows 7 will allow you to view icons if you look along the top menu there is a change view icon that allows you to view lists, icons, tiles or content with preview windows etc. But you have Design explorer as part of the wilcom package also jsut look in your Programs list under Wilcom. Better still if you have lots of files and want to store, search, classif,y sort add keywords for emb files images etc by far the best option is Wilcom workflow. this is a full on database that gives incredible versatility Built of SQL. You can take a quick look at workflow here http://www.stitchvault.com/index.php/workflow

| I want to see a preview not the wilcom icon. When I click on a design, the preview window says "no preview available". I don't want to spend $1000.00 for Workflow. |

Hi,
Did you check to see if the file extension is assign to Wilcom? Right click the file and select Properties and see if the file is ES and make sure it's the current version by going to the Change.

Greg, Yes it is ES. Are you using Windows 7? Are you able to see the designs? If so I think it's a windows issue that I can't seem to find any information about. |

| Thanks for the link, doesn't work on my computer. I click content then click back on the icon and nothing changes. Do you think it's in the folder options? Maybe I have something set up wrong. |

Are you clicking the 'Hide and Preview' pane to the right of the more options dropdown?
Or you could look under the 'Organise tab Folde'r and 'Search options' and then 'View tab' try different settings there.
