Any comments on vista? I am hearing some good and lots of bad. Problem is with new computers you dont seem to have a choice. I am still on my humble XP.

hello
What I heard, is that if you check with DELL , you can still get XP loaded.
I use Vista at the moment , and basically so far it has a few quirks..but is performing ok.
Most people I know have opted for XP, and I'd probably prefer to stay on XP a while myself.

The one thing that bugs me is that autocomplete no longer works in the email. Apart from that, some programs I had dont work on Vista, and required upgrades , so try to check the programs aspect first, and weigh the cost factor, as some upgrades may be necessary.

I also heard that some updates Vista did, wrecked the running of some peoples computers. So far, I noticed that some updates are very large filesizes like 30mb..80mb etc, but I have not installed much, because its working fine at the moment...but this aspect does bug me about auto updates.

I would think that maybe at this time, try to get something with XP ..although Vista is generally nice, I think it should be ok after perhaps a year.

bye
