Good day all ... hoping to get some help. I just started at a company that offers embroidery services. The software they use is Wilcom ES-65 Designer. They have one person that knows how to use the software but where we're so busy he has little time to show me any of the basics.

Today I was able to get the image I was hoping to get embroidered into Wilcom but that's as far as I got. Can anyone direct me to a Wilcom for Dummies site? One that will show me how to get the image I attached saved as a DST file? I'm very proficient at PhotoSHop but this software is a completely different animal.

Thanks in advance

A

Hi Angelus,
The file you attached is an image, not a stitch file. This has to be digitized before it can be saved in a machine format (dst).

Ahhh .... then I'm even less competent than I thought. Can the Wilcom software do this?

Yes the file is just a Raster file (Bitmap Image). You can do hand digitizing with the tools this would give you the best result but takes skill and knowledge as I have some free tutorials at my web site. You can also use the Reduce Color and then Smart design but you will get a better result if you trace it or recreate it as a vector use Point and Click with changing the settings for each object. Then if you were Updated to EmbroideryStudio e1.5 you can use the convert graphic to Embroidery once it a vector file.
