I really hope someone can help me. I was digitzing some files this morning and now they will not open. It gives me a warning message that .emb is the wrong file format. It tries to salvage the files and then tells me it has, but it hasn't. All my underlays and colors are all wrong. I really need to get this design tested. I did a repair and all of my setting changed to the default. So I really hate to do another one. Everything was perfectly fine yesterday. I hope someone has an idea as to what is going on. Thanks, Kimberly

hello,
Unfortunately, you may have to redo the files. I've had instances of such occurrences over the years.

First:
Go to the main program folder, and check the 'Backup' files. (you'll see a folder called ' BACKUP' in the main program folder.
If you see your file in the list as eg Kim.BAK , rename that as Kim.EMB. After you have renamed it, try to open that file. If that doesn't open, then re-digitizing may be the only option.

As a matter of a safety net, I can suggest that you always also create perhaps a *dst file each time you save any native EMB files ( or any other machine format you prefer)
In the event of such occurrences, I have always found the machine files to open. It's a solution that can save you much frustration.
