| Hi Greg,
as I mentioned here is my question regarding the use of the manual tie tool as well as the manual trim tool both, I mean the once left hand beyond the keep/omit last stitch tool.
I tried to understand the tie and trim tool but obviously never got it though also Ando-san one explained it - unfortunately I thought I got it but didn't.
Can you make me understand it?
So far I almost believe, the tools are history for object based files and only work within stitch based files imported into Wilcom without converted to objects?
Several time I wanted to create lettering in three colors, no problem to change the colors from letter to letter in a lettering object, but I wanted the top part of the letters in black, the middle red, and the bottom then golden yellow (anybody know why, soccer world cup 2006 ;-) ). I travelled through the lettering object "GERMANY" and inserted color trims. So far so fine, but I couldn't make the SW generate tie offs after each color and trims. Even when ungrouping the word and inserting color chances in the single columns/objects I have had no luck.
Of course, when digitizing this all manually, there is no problem, but i still wonder, why we have those two tools available. Probably I do not know enough about historic punching and older machines.
I don't have the file on hand which I tried to do last year but I just did a sample that you can imagine what I am talking about.
The top line is a lettering object with with manual input color changes, the middle line is part of the duplicated and ungrouped lettering object with maually inserted color changes within the single column objects and the bottom line is how I would digitize manually to get what I want ( I know in the first two line I could have adjusted the stitch angels to get horizontal edges from color to color like I digitized them manually, but that's not the question here)
How can I make the SW safely tie after each color in the first two cases?

| OK, This is some that I worn and don't recommend of doing "Inserting Manual function also nesting" unless you know what you are doing and not going to edit or scale the file. What is going to happen on your keyboard lettering is that when you resize it, it will not hold the properties. Try Splitting, then you can edited it quicker and resize it. Attached is a sample of what you can do. Note, I did this for showing and did not finish it for sewing. |
