| The problem I am facing is in designs of sequence.The system takes too much time for a design of 20000 stitches. If i have to cut paste a whole design it takes about 5 minutes.Similarly for sequence design of 100000 stitches or more a simple cut paste may take 1 hour to 6 hours.I am using Lenovo laptop
having 256 Mb ram, win xp,intel celeron 1.50 Ghz.
Should i buy multi core cpu (but does wilcom 9 support multi core processors)?
Should i purchase a graphics card?
Should i go for more and faster ram?
Plase anyone suggest me a best system config.

That is a tall design, what machine do you have to sew that large? It’s over 1 meter tall. Why do you have it broken up in 4 parts? I see a lot of areas were the needle is going to hit/sew threw the sequin (disks) is that what you want?
It took 1 minute and 20 seconds to open your file.
I took another minute and 43 seconds to select all objects and redraw.
It took me about 5½ minutes to do a mirror of the whole design with redraw. Because of all the Manual Sequin and Grouping of object used and the needle hitting the sequin (disks) it did not generate some of the sequin (disks).
Your design would not take as long if you use the Sequin Run Auto or Sequin Run Manual more instead of the Manual Sequin and Grouping of object.
P.S.
I never saw a design with so many sequin (disks) stacked on top each other and so close to each other as this design, Are you trying to create a pyramid effect? If so I would like to see a picture of it sewn out.

We have got machines whose area is 400 mm by 1200 mm 15 head 9 niddles, double sequence device .Yes we do make these type of designs more often.The design which i have sent you will make saree pallu.If you know any indian/pakistani/srilankan/bangladeshi person he can explain you what saree pallu is.
Here are some more R & D results
Processor Intel Core i7 Quad
Motherboard Intel
Ram 4 Gb ddr 3 1333mhz
I opened the design of sequence which i have mailed you and selected blue color in it and gave the delete to remove blue. It took 20 seconds.With 2 gb of ram and also with 1 gb of ram it took 20 seconds.Than i give the command to duplicate the entire design.I was there in front of the monitor for about 55 minutes but the design didnt get duplicated.Than i switced off the wilcom from the task manager.
Now the interesting thing is out of the 8 processors(cores) available, everything related to wilcom process gets done on just 1 core, rest of the 7 cores remain idle.I tried processor affinity but it didnt work.
Now i am very clear about the 2 issues:-
1.Ram has no important role. 1 Gb is enough.
2.Graphics card is also of no use.
Now the question arises
1.Does wilcom not support multi core processors? Or wilcom has nothing to do with it as this is the task of windows xp to distribute the job among different cores, if this is the case how can i do that?
2. Should i try wilcom on any other OS but than wilcom will support that OS?

wilcom can support multicore processor but winxpsp2 only not anyother os. for these type of heavy designs u hve to upgrade your hardware.I am using i5 next generation 2400 with 4gb ram 1tb hard disk and nvidea gtx450 graphic card. wid windowxp sp2 and wilcom running fine
